At least NYC isn’t forcing retired nurses and doctors to come back to work like Italy did. =\ But I suppose it could be possible if not enough volunteers?

Completely agree. I did not need that emergency alert on my phone today. I get that they are desperate - but that's not going to help. It interrupted the meditation I was doing. It's not like they don't have other outlets to get this across.

We've got a LOT of refugee/immigrants who were licensed as nurses/doctors in their home country who aren't allowed to practice here. This would be a good time to lift those restrictions.

As a one time thing, I welcomed it. I'm sure there are people that might have missed the call for additional support, and if that got even one extra person to sign up, it would have been worth it.

Now, if it becomes a weekly occurrence, I'm totally on board with your criticism.

Illinois did the same thing last week and I almost expired of panic when it went off.
