Well, I paused my teeth cleaning last year because we had some cash flow issues

Just went back for another section to be cleaned (that's section, not session). I always forget how long it takes to numb my gums adequately, and then they won't thaw for hours after. The back of my teeth feel weird to my tongue, but it's been so long since I had them cleaned (do NOT ask) that they're probably fine I think.

You've probably had this discussion and I missed it, but I found out a few years ago that hypermobility and issues with local anesthesia are linked. There are several studies about it. They usually connect it with Ehlers-Danlos, but I'm willing to bet there's non-Ehlers-Danlos hypermobility that has this anesthesia connection also.

...I don't recall hearing that before at all. (That said, given how bad my teeth are, I'm not willing to assert that it was a problem with the anesthetic vs. simply having to have a lot of it to cope with the amount of work that needed to be done. I'll see what happens once they're getting cleaned on a regular basis.)

We'd be interested in hearing more about it when you find out. Some dentists/dental surgeons still don't know of the connexion & are surprised when you show them the medical journal articles and that.
