My Rosie Dog, who is a dachshund-chihuahua mix but weighs 22 pounds because the chihuahua is not dominant in her, also has weird ribs like that. Dachshunds can actually have extra ribs on one side that float, which feels really peculiar when rubbing her tummy. It's like she has a trio of tiny diving boards on one side.
