And yeah, the last Mayors I have any strong recall of are my own here and Giuliani, who was still duckwalking NY's streets when I left for FL (and came back to NY, and left for FL again). Blergh. No good mayors there, not since Koch.
Grrrrrrr yeah, I know. The broken window gentrification of the NY I loved sooooo much until he came along. He's probably half the reason we moved (it already just wasn't the same anymore).
I could tell you I meant effable, because I did, but you probably wouldn't believe me. I'm setting a pretty low bar, after all, though effable the other way is of course also desirable (if not entirely preferable - I had to think about that, for a minute).
In hindsight, though, that's not clear. Google defines effable as "able to be described in words" which was where I was going with it - just a play on words.

You know, I thought that might be where you were going with that, but there's not much I can say in response to "I like them un-ineffable". (And for the record, ineffable villains are better than effable ones, especially if they're also f-able.) So even though you were clearly jumping off affable, I was a little stuck.
No actually, I don't. I used to watch it when my sister still lived at home with us in the last few years before she went away to college. I remember losing my taste for it yet she still watched it. Back then it aired on...Fox? Or on channel 9 or 11, one of the two more local stations (NY, NJ).
Or my memory's wrong (probably gonna go google it now to see).
OK, four years before it aired, according to IMDB. (I hate Wikipedia for nailing down dates.)
1996-97 would've been possible for my sister, as she spent summer breaks home the first few years she went to college (she graduated hs in '95, so would've begun her higher ed that same fall).
'92 *weeps* I can't think what I'm thinking of but wonder now if there was a similar predecessor type of show (the movie was out in '92 but no, we weren't watching it on repeat back at the house, so).
It's baaaaaaad I tell you. Especially the 90s for some reason; the years just bleed together for me after some point (apparently, after '91 through 2000 or so).
Yeah, same here, right through high school and beyond (good moments from both, too).
In all fairness (to myself, I guess) the 90s were, with a few notable and/or unfortunate exceptions, the 10 most boring years of my life, so I can kind of get it all blending together for me now (not too much to differentiate one year from another, in retrospect).
