I deeply enjoyed the two relationship posts. They actually nailed what I hate about canon het but also, come to think of it, why I'm not as interested in most canon queer relationships as I am in non-canon queer relationships. But the problem is far worse with het.

That skull one is either making stuff up, or it's suffering from a serious problem with image quality -- they're not the same color at all.

Skull on the left is in nice respectable magenta shades like #933255 (hue 239). Skull on the right is in distinctly red-orange shades like #B33D00 (hue 14).

Among other things it looks like they botched the scan as when I enlarged it so the bars were really wide they fuzzed into each other.

You *don't* want to use "fuzzy" (lossy) image formats for things like this. You want something like GIF, TIFF or PNG.

Pretty sure the image was digital to begin with, and that's just a horribly-low-quality JPG compression setting.

GIFs are lossy, just not in the same way JPGs are -- probably wouldn't have hurt this one, since an image that starts with less than 256 colors can come out fine.

I have to disagree with the last panel. Joan of arc was definitely before Tubman. and I'm pretty sure there were others even further in the past.

Doesn't lessen what she did, but it puts it in perspective.
