Gosh, I just love that show. In a perfect world, it went on for six excellent seasons, because Disney took its collective head out of its ass regarding their magical 66 episode concept.

Gargoyles is one of those defining shows for my youth (I was a late teen). Actually, I'd say it was the defining show.

It got me into Shakespeare. It had a woman main character and she was a cop and her womanness was never an issue! She was mixed race! It was never an issue! (Being mixed race young woman into "male" hobbies, that was a big deal.) It was the first show I ever watched where I saw the last episode of the original show (Hunter's Moon), and realised--holy cow--that was The End. I kept my crumbling VHS tapes I'd record while I was working my after school job until Disney finally released it all on DVD a few years back.

It's been sitting next to the telly for months now demanding a rewatch.... Hm.

It's a great palate cleanser for our awful reality. (Unlike the time I binged Babylon 5 during G. W. Bush's administration. Bad choice there.)

Gargoyles is so good! I bought the dvds for my partner a few Christmases back and Christmas morning was just like, wanna binge watch the whole thing and eat the leftover Yorkshire puds and creamed spinach side we made yesterday instead of putting on the roast? It was boss.

I remember catching the first half of a Gargoyles episode every weekday morning before having to go out to catch the school bus. It was such a good show, and I used to love the " Previously, on Gargoyles" bit at the start of each episode for explaining what I missed.

In fairness to the moon in Gargoyles, they do state that a month or so passes between episodes... at least in the first season.
