Someone told me about special birthdays when I was 3 or 4 and I spent about a year waiting for my special birthday anxiously before realizing it had happened when I was 1 and I'd missed it.

You get another one 30 years later.

No because 30 years later would be 31 and that's actually someone else's special year. Plus I missed it.

Yeeeeeeah, but we're using modular arithmetic here. It resets after 30, except for those people born on the 31st.
