Aug. 1st, 2004 02:58 amYou know what? It's true. I never have seen a waning moon. I always see it either full or waxing (or possibly new, but I don't know about that). MAYBE, I see it a day after the full moon, but that's it. And it's not intentional, either, because every time I notice the moon isn't full anymore, but it's getting fuller, I realize that, yup, once again I've missed it waning.
This month will be different. If I have to get out of bed in the middle of the night, I will. I *will* see the waning moon.

Date: 2004-08-01 07:06 am (UTC)I was going to comment on your blue moon post, but I didn't get around to it, so I'll just do it here: I mentioned to my dad that it was a blue moon, and he said something like, "Yeah, by the incorrect definition in Sky and Telescope magazine. It's really the fourth full moon in three months." If there's a difference, I don't get it.
