well... look, at least I'm not posting in the future, guys!

1. What was your favorite toy as a child?

My sister expects me to say it was Beary Bear, a stuffed brown bear with a little embroidered bear over his heart. And this is true, he was my favorite. But my second favorite was a large truck I had made out of clear plastic so you could see the colored gears inside moving as it rolled from here to there.

2. What did you name it?

My bear was obviously Beary Bear, because he had a bear on him. (He also had a plastic hook on his head where his tag had been and I twisted it and twisted it.) Trains don't get names.

3. Who gave it to you?

Hell if I know.

4. Do you still have it?

No :(

I also don't have that train, nor my Sit 'n Spin, and modern Sit 'n Spins are too small and don't really spin.

5. If not, what happened to it?

I lost him at Clinton's inauguration :(

1. What was your favorite toy as a child?

A largish grey bear that was played with so much the eyes came off and the nose was reduced to a shiny patch.

2. What did you name it?

I didn't. I apparently didn't start naming stuffies till I was a teen.

3. Who gave it to you?

Hell if I know. I always assumed my parents.

4. Do you still have it?

No.

5. If not, what happened to it?

Purged in late elementary school when all stuffies were banned because I was having recurring respiratory illnesses.

It sounds to me as if Beary Bear went out to party about the inauguration and went off with a crowd of rowdy Dems.

I was an amazingly sick child: heart surgery when I was 18 months old, five operations on my R hand by 3rd grade. LOTS of doctors. I had a pink poodle in a pose lying on its side like a nursing mother. It had a music box, but the key had been lost, so my mom sewed the hole shut. No idea what became of it, or what it's name was, or who gave it to me - was most likely my parents or her parents who lived with us.

I have a vague memory of being at a doctor, most likely a speech therapist, and the poodle being put in a window with a long balloon in front of it, and the distortion entertaining me.

That sounds really cool! I also loved trucks (and any vehicles) as a kid, and loved to see how things work. Still do, I suppose. :)
