As you might recall, Jenn's office pooled their money to get Christmas gifts for poor kids in December. They do this every year, and it's supposed to be an individual thing but she arranged for them to give her the money and me to do the present picking out.

Anyway, fast forward to a few months later and a few of their spouses looked over the credit card receipts, said why the hell do we have a $300 charge I don't recognize to reload somebody's Amazon balance that I don't know them, and disputed the charges.

Which means Amazon froze my account.

This is all perfectly reasonable, and I'm not mad, but boy it's sure frustrating. It's all sorted out now and we can all get back into our Kindles but sheesh. Oh, well, it could be worse - it could've kept us from getting those presents to the kids.

Argh! So, next year it's cash or (physical, pre-paid) Amazon/credit cards? Or someone else's turn to organize?

The rather fascinating thing I learned from chasing links on that story is that Gorsuch has been pretty good on federal indian law, and a bunch of native orgs and tribes supported his nomination for that reason.

Great collection of links. I've read some of them already, and saved most of the rest to Pocket. The one on the "Asian squat" has me working on being able to squat like that - so far I'm quite a long ways from it, but I figure if I try squatting a couple of times a day every day, eventually I'll be able to.
