I'd previously told Ana that, in truth, Shakespeare is just wall to wall sex jokes in archaic language but I still wasn't expecting them to pull out "what, with my tongue in your tale?" in a performance half filled with minors.

Leaned over and let her know that that's all Will. All the best lines were, naturally.

(I also wasn't expecting them to bring out water guns for the tempest, though once they did I was definitely expecting them to turn them on the audience. Was not disappointed.)

The News Hour (NH) pieces on the Forest Service have (thus far) resulted in many further reports to the NH's tip line and also the resignation of the current head of the Forest Service. The new acting head is a woman, which (with luck) can't hurt. Things there could even improve some; ya never know.

Ha ha, interpretive Shakespeare can be so awesome. I'll never forget some of the ones I saw like Henry V performed if it was like a kid literally playing with toys (strangely more relevant these days than ever) and a MacBeth performed by the host of Where in The World is Carmen Sandiego where everyone was portrayed by fast food icons.

(I thought 1968's R&J by Zeffirelli was the perfect gateway drug for sexy sexy Shakespeare. The actors were that young!)

We were going to do Julius Caesar last year, but in between High School Admissions and my mom's cancer we barely got the minimum done... and then, only for about half the year, which is why she's redoing algebra now.

Well, I've always said it's not the end of the world to repeat a single year of school, but I'm still not thrilled with how it all shook out. If I'd known her last year of middle school would end like that I might've put some serious effort into finding her a non-sucky public middle school option back when she was in 5th.
