1. YO AWKWARD MEETING IS AWKWARD. SO AWKWARD OMG.
2. STILL AWKWARD.
3. Continuing to be so awkward...!
4. But at least Saru seems to be on good terms with Michael again.
5. Today is just Saru's day for uncomfortable greetings, isn't it.
6. Soooooooo... whatever the show says, I think I'll be pissed if Voq is gone entirely. What a waste of time on his story if he is.
7. But damn, he's good at this Captain business thus far.
8. More uncomfortable greetings, I see. I'd love to read Saru's log of today....
9. That was a lot of plot (and awkward greetings), and we're just now starting the opening credits. Sometimes I really, really like this show.
10. Hm. I'm thinking that the Admiral could do with a little bit of therapy of her own. I mean, shooting the fortune cookies? (Question: Do they have fortune cookies in the Mirror Universe, or was that something he just enjoyed from this universe?)
11. "That Lorca was an imposter from an alternate universe was not the most obvious conclusion." Well, that's the understatement of the millennium right there. And yet, after watching a lot of Trek in my life, I... kinda feel like it ought to have at least been in the top ten?
12a. We aren't seeing Captain Killy? Aw :( Maybe she got to an escape pod and is even now wreaking havoc!
12b. Y'know, "Discovery" isn't a very Mirror-esque name, is it?
13. I kinda assumed your Gabriel was dead until you put it that way, but now I think we'll most certainly be seeing him.
14. I'm terribly disappointed that the Emperor isn't rooming with L'Rell. That has great comedic potential.
15. The awkward meeting tally is rising exponentially.
16. Tilly is such a sweetheart, and so much stronger than her counterpart, who I'm sure would never be this brave. This is how we know she's real captain material, and if this show harms her I will never, ever, ever forgive it. (And she's grown so much since her first episode, when she pretended they had assigned stations!)
17. "I'm unable to establish contact." Saw that coming.
18. Now your ganglia activate? You got through the entire jaunt to the Mirrorverse, no problems, but now you're threatened?
19. She's turning into the Borg universe Riker, isn't she? The one who was panicky and very unfortunate?
20. Wow, L'Rell is positively diplomatic!
21. Aaaaand the Emperor is a bitch. I feel like she and Sarek would get along great. They're both crappy, overly demanding parents.
22. So, um, comparing people to cancer is always gross (always!) and Michael, you should gut her and never speak to her again after that.
23. Wait, wait, did the spores grow back? Can we get a line about how their spores have regenerated juuuuuust enough for this plan that's so crazy it just might work?
24. Oh, okay, there's the line. Good.
25. The Emperor and Sarek aren't getting along great. But they're arguing over Michael! This is exactly the sort of shenanigans I tune in for. OMG THEY ARE ARGUING OVER WHO IS THE BETTER PARENT! (You both suck. Michael in both universes succeeded despite your efforts.)
26. What profit a Vulcan to gain the whole world only to lose the Federation's soul in the process?
27. Wow, Sarek, just gaslight the hell out of your daughter. You are a terrible father. And the conversation is getting more and more uncomfortably inappropriate. I said previously that Michael ought to run all her Lorca convos past Tilly. Now I'm thinking she ought to do that with, well, every conversation. She finally figured out what Lorca was doing to her, but does she really not see how Sarek has neatly deflected her concerns and put the spotlight on her? "You look troubled." "Nah, you only think that because of your relationship problems." WTF, Sarek, can you please be honest with your kid for once in your life?
28. Maybe she has learned something from this experience. God, I hope so. Watching people play her was getting exhausting.
29. There's no way Voq is gone.
30. Wow. Ash, you're so out of line. Are you trying to shred her remaining feelings for you?
31. I get the feeling a lot of people are gonna take Ash's side, but nah. Michael can't be responsible for his mental/emotional health.

One of my partners pointed out that Sarek would have been all for this, because having her be officially alive helps lift some guilt off of Burnham, and makes her gaining her freedom more likely. Also, by episode 4, I was pretty sure that the season would end with Burnham leading an entirely justified mutiny (I assumed against Lorca) - I still think this will happen, but I didn't expect against who - wow.

He was totally in the wrong, but at the same time I felt like his being out of line in response to her was very realistic to how that fight would go if they were both real people, you know? And I do still ship them, of course. But man does he need to deal with his own issues before they could ever get back together.
