Decided to be
thefridayfive-y today
Feb. 9th, 2018 12:55 am1. Where did you go the last time you took an airplane ride?
California. No, wait, I lie. I went out to California and then I came home. Was that the year Ana pretended she didn't know me?
2. Are you a nervous flyer or a comfortable flyer?
When I was in kindergarten, my parents put me on a plane with my sister to go to Belgium alone. We did this repeatedly. No nerves here.
3. Window seat or aisle seat?
I will fight you for that window seat.
4. What is the worst experience you've had flying?
Excepting the bad earaches I had as a kid? That time I found out at the end of the flight that my seat didn't have to be so itchy, I was just sitting on ramen noodles.
5. What is the best experience you've had flying?
It's flying. As long as I can walk away at the end, I'm sure it's the best experience.

Date: 2018-02-11 07:00 am (UTC)nnnNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGG. Lay people, my ass: the assumption that depression causes insomnia, and never the other way around, was ABSOLUTELY standard to psychiatry even really to today. There have been movements toward challenging that over the last decade or so which are getting some traction, so the idea hase moved from "unthinkable" to "interesting hobby-horse" but certainly hasn't done anything for mainstream practice. I was warned there was no point in referring a patient with depression to a sleep specialist until the depression remitted, because the sleep specialist wouldn't see the patient, under the assumption the depression was primary.

2. Are you a nervous flyer or a comfortable flyer?
Comfy. Except for current the way airlines deliberately abuse their customers to make them want to upgrade to minimal standards of physical comfort, I love flying.
3. Window seat or aisle seat?
Middle. I am tall, and the middle seats have the most foot-and-legroom.
4. What is the worst experience you've had flying?
Zhenzhou to Guanzhou, when TBD, sitting in my lap in a carrier and a slightly-too-large diaper, had diarrhea during takeoff. (Sympathetic flight attendant let me into restroom well before the fasten seatbelt sign went off yays. I didn't get to actually change my pants till we reached our hotel, though.)
5. What is the best experience you've had flying?
Coming into Reykjavik at dawn, soaring over the greenmoss lava fields.
