Blatant propaganda against gay marriage

I'll look at the sample ad later (note these people are AGAINST those losers) and deconstruct it logically.

Text of ad: "Why Don't [Ohio] Senators DeWine and Voinovich Believe Every Child Needs a Mother and a Father?

This is about gay marriage. Not gay adoption. Adoption by gays seems to be legal in Ohio, so it's a moot point.

"Unless the Senate passes the Federal Marriage Amendment, homosexual marriage could be coming to Ohio-and sooner than you think.

And I always thought conservatives were about state's rights. Gay marriage would only be allowed in Ohio if and only if the Ohio state legislature allowed it. They don't need a change on the federal level to allow that. Yes, I realize that if the law on the federal level said that all states had to recognize gay marriage, Ohio would have to as well, but that's not the issue at stake here.

Here's the bottom line: homosexual marriage intentionally creates fatherless families or motherless families. Think about it.

No, it doesn't. Single people can adopt in Ohio. Gay men in Ohio can, apparently, adopt. Marriage has nothing to do with it. Newsflash, gay people generally don't have kids with their partners. Not biologically, anyway.

I'm having too much fun with this statement. Let's see if I can pull up Ohio's divorce rates. Hm. I can't find the divorce rates for Ohio alone, but for the nation it seems to be hovering at around 50%. It's trite, I know, but isn't it a little hypocritical to obsess over gay marriage and NOT the staggeringly high divorce rate? I won't even get into the number of children being born out of wedlock. THIS creates far more "motherless" and "fatherless" children than gay marriage ever will.

"Ohio's senators have said nice things about marriage. But so far they won't take the one step that will save it. They won't support the Federal Marriage Amendment. We thought you would like to know.

Maybe they don't support the Federal Marriage Amendment because it's unjust?

Every child. Really. You've interviewed EVERY child. Even those who grow up on kibbutzim, and don't live with their parents? Even those who grow up in societies where your parents don't get married, but you live with your mother, and her mother, and HER mother, all your life? Even those who have two gay parents, and are growing up happy? And those who have two straight parents who are abusive, or always fighting?

Help make your senators as smart as a kid. Pick up the phone and tell their staffs you support the Federal Marriage Amendment, and they should too."

I will do no such thing. You have yet to convince me. You don't even offer anything remotely resembling proof for ANY of your statements. Try again, this time with evidence.
