I agree that a 6-year-old child is not fully responsible for his own behavior, but I really have to wonder at the [expletives] who are teaching him to be such an entitled little jerk.

Hunter for his part said he feels "sorry" for doing something wrong and tries to be good in school.

That's not ok, young man. Really, pursuing a girl who has repeatedly asked you not to kiss her? "Energy" does not excuse that. Something is WRONG with the idea that it's any kind of excuse. The people responsible for teaching you how to be an adult did you no favors if they gave you the idea this is how boys are supposed to behave.

...as a parent of a 6-year-old and a 7-year-old, an innocent peck on the cheek or on the hand seems as natural for kids this age as declarations of who they plan to marry.

It gets less and less innocent, the more often the target asks the pursuer to stop doing it.

I concur. I wonder, though, if he would have even heard his parents saying that if the school hadnt made a bigger deal of this than needed to be made.

A six year old kissing another isn't sexual harassment, because they have no way of knowing better. If they'd just called in the parents and explained that the behavior was inappropriate and wouldn't be allowed, it's likely his parents would not have responded with "wtf? He's six! He just has a lot of energy!"

*classroom film sound kicks in* These young men are using autism to run their greenhouse! That's right! Scientists have recently discovered that autism can be used to power a car! You can get three times the mileage from a pound of autism than you can from a cornstalk! Autism is as essential to modern farming practice as the John Deere tractor.

Gabe immediately says "Yep, all you need is sunlight, water and a little good ol'autism. Mix it into your soil just like wormcast and horse manure."

(We actually think this is a fantastic thing, it's just the "with autism" phrasing that... gnfgffnnggnf.)
