I'm not sure if this author doesn't realize there's a difference between the ~900s and the 1600s

or if she just doesn't care, but it's really annoying. (It doesn't help that her knowledge of the 1600s appears to be more based on pop culture than research. I'm still reading mostly to see if these people have invented baths yet.)
