though I think I should clarify that I was mostly just whining in the form of a question.

Also, just checked the calendar, and the sell-by doesn't even hit for another two days, and I don't think it's that unreasonable to expect my chicken, kept in recommended conditions, to stay good until the sell-by date.

The city had a flyover today to "support frontline workers"

which, okay, I bet they feel real supported now. I'm just glad they remembered to warn us in advance. Last time this happened, some years ago during Fleet Week, I wasn't warned and ended up hiding in the basement for ten, fifteen minutes. The only time I remember those planes right overhead in NYC before that was 9/11, third period, so....

(I had the bad luck to be walking the dogs as this happened, but luckily Moonpie didn't find it scary.)

They've helpfully listed the next few with supplies so you don't have to rush to the store after each one is posted.

I sometimes have trouble getting their actual pages to load, and so usually, if I link to one of their articles, I do it from their DW feed, popular_science_rss_feed. However, you'll see if you check the recent posts there that a lot of what comes up in the feed is stuff like "best $PRODUCT" lists. You may have more success loading their articles if you turn off your adblocker, I'm thinking.
