The city had a flyover today to "support frontline workers"

which, okay, I bet they feel real supported now. I'm just glad they remembered to warn us in advance. Last time this happened, some years ago during Fleet Week, I wasn't warned and ended up hiding in the basement for ten, fifteen minutes. The only time I remember those planes right overhead in NYC before that was 9/11, third period, so....

(I had the bad luck to be walking the dogs as this happened, but luckily Moonpie didn't find it scary.)

Same thing just happened here - I heard it and thought they must be deploying something?
Then 5 minutes later saw a notification news thing on my phone that the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds were going to be flying over to "salute the Phildelphia region".
Whew.

Happily, only 50% of our dogs are scared of loud noises. The other dog is mostly deaf, and even if it's loud enough for him to hear it only seems loud enough to startle him, not scare him.

Don't know about you, but at the rate things have been going, if I heard that Trump was sending fighter planes over New York, I'd head for my basement and crouch real low until the ALL CLEAR sounded.

I thought I'd read about several US cities being scheduled to be subject to this "show of support". Wishing that I could remember where.

I didn't see or hear it at all - I think it was further east or west of where I am? It did confuse my poor father though - he kept thinking he could see them in South Carolina, driving my mother nuts. Meanwhile one guy on the Kensington Face Book page, posted that it happened at all and asked if anyone heard it on Monday - I informed him that it hadn't happened yet.

I don't know how great this was - since most people probably didn't see it - and I mean how could you - if you don't have a way to get out to where it was happening and look up into the sky? At least, I know that it wasn't our Governor's idea, he just went along with the Pres Doofus. The Governor was touring a hospital at the time and didn't appear to care.
