Talk about burying the lede, though. I suppose it'd be harder for him to keep writing XKCD with fewer than the usual amount of thumbs, but still. I was on tenterhooks worrying about that kitty!

(It is entirely possible that I'm not being sarcastic. I really do like cats. Is it them, or is it their habit for shedding hair and toxoplasmosis everywhere they go? Who can say!)
