Learned something interesting today.
Jan. 6th, 2016 05:59 amI can see Venus without my glasses on.
I spent a couple of bleary minutes looking out the window at the moon going a. "Hey, the moon is pretty low today!" and b. "What the heck is that bright thing!?" before realizing it must be Venus.
And yeah, it's one of the brightest things in the sky, I know, but often things "visible to the naked eye" aren't visible to my naked eye, because I need glasses omg.
By the end of this month we'll be able to see all five planets at once. For a given value of "we", that is. It remains to be seen whether or not I can do this sans glasses, and also taking light pollution (and the other sort of pollution, and also clouds) into effect.
