Rather than emailing you, I'll just let you into the special "Needs Address" friends group so you can see the special post.

This is in case you want to send items I'm very much needing, or actual Christmas presents, or a card, or letters, or, I dunno, a bomb or somesuch (please don't try to blow me up!).

I'm going to screen comments to this post, so if you want to share your address, for letters, cards, presents, whatever, you can. You can also share other contact information if you so desire. I promise not to do anything creepy like stalk you as celery does at midnight.

I reserve the right to not let people into the Needs Address group without specifying a reason. If I get random creepyness, this post is getting locked.

Please note that I'm a really bad letter-writer. You might have to start writing if you want me to write back.

Edit: Yeah, let's actually turn that comment screening *on*.

Art stuff )

Music (can get pricy, unless I can get used) )

Books/magazines )

That's a long list, and it would've been longer. Only reason I even *made* a list is so that if anybody wants to buy a book, they don't buy one we already have. Might be better to ask. I'd love to get Ana et al. some books popular in other English-speaking countries that aren't so well-known here, and am always open to suggestions. Oh, and will also take any "one-word" books, y'know, with pictures, for babies? Ana especially liked the "Baby Faces" books, but they're all... overloved by now.

Toys )

And, of course, will accept tons of used toys not on the list, so long as they're not stuffed animals. We're full up on those.

Will also accept nothing, if that's what we can get. I'd be, frankly, a bit shocked if I got anything from this.

Some sites (with more toys!) that you may find interesting:

Y'know, people who argue for equal rights for gay people will point out that it's "perfectly normal" to be gay. And it's "perfectly normal" to be a lefty, right? And it's "perfectly normal" to, say, not want kids.

Yeah. Except that when you're in a minority, you're kinda, by definition, not normal. It's not perfectly normal.

And that's okay!

I don't have to be normal. I mean, what would that say about us, any of us, that our big goal in life is to be normal. How boring! I'm NOT NORMAL in many respects - most visibly, I'm a lefty, and I wear glasses. That's not normal. It's a boring way of not being normal, but that's fine - I don't have to go around declaring how "normal" I am to gather together the shreds of my self-worth, or to convince the sillies that I'm not a threat because of my sinister lefty ways.

You're gay? Great. Sure, that's normal for you, but it's not normal for the population that's not gay - and that's good. If you're reading my journal, you're probably my friend, which means you're a cool person who isn't normal. You're really interested in some obscure author nobody's ever heard of but you? *coughs* Okay, that's me - and it's not normal, and that's great! Hilari Bell rocks, even if I'm all alone in saying that.

Stop talking about how normal things are, unless they really *are* normal. There's nothing *wrong* with not being normal, and you already know that (I hope and assume), so why skirt around the issue?

*checks clock*

Yeah, I'm drunk on tiredness. Night all. Djusk' a.

There's no provision for that, is there? I'd suggest you just comment in the most recent or most appropriate entry with a picture of description of whatever it is before you get it, and if we already have it, I'll tell you.

That applies to new stuff, used is always welcome even if we already have it - that doesn't cost money.

I'll set up a new amazon wishlist for the actual *christmas* list we have (as opposed to the clothes list) and then you'll be able to search if somebody already got that, though it'd be nice if you'd tell me anyway so I can edit the wishlist *here* as well, assuming you go and get christmas presents (other than donations to charity, which is always appreciated, though not quite tangible. I'll come up with a list of *those* soon). But that's hardly important, and Christmas is ages away anyway.

And hugs and thanks *again* to everyone. Maybe this year I'll be on top of things enough to mail out presents (unlike years previous...) and you'll all get... I don't know, cookies or scarves or used books or somesuch. We've got tons of used books. I couldn't bear to sell them, but giving them away is different.

Sand pouring downwards
Tick, tock, hours drift away
Was the day wasted?

*coughs*

I did stuff. Really!

I think my haiku(s) are getting better. What say you?
