Honest curiosity here.

I try to comment only when I have something interesting to say. Or when I'm so overwhelmed by their brilliance that I'm completely incoherent. Or, sometimes, when their husband/grandmother/fish has died and I think they consider me to be close enough a friend that my commenting won't be an intrusion, then I leave a vague comfort-type comment.

No other reasons, really.

The T on this keyboard is broken. I wonder if we have another keyboard lying around which I can hook up to this computer....

Traditionally, the first day of winter, which makes sense. Think about it.

I got to Jenn's house, and Ana's hair was nicely done in ten braids flat against her head, and not frizzy. It always sucks when I see how nice her hair is and then have to undo it to put in less nice, but non-frizzy braids.

Apparently, Doris "had a spare 15 minutes", so she braided Ana's hair. 'dul was amazed, Jenn was awed, I was... frankly, a little annoyed. I can't do three braids in twice that time, and mine aren't as nice, either! I try not to let it get to me, though. That way lies madness.

We tucked Ana in her cat jacket and drew on her face to take her out Trick-or-Treating. This is the first time she's ever gone, so I had to cut it short. We only did one block. It felt weird, coming home before my feet were aching. *shudders* There's a lot more variety in Halloween treats than when I was a kid - and a lot more older kids going around openly trick or treating. Such a bizarre holiday, really....

This is going to be bad.

This weekend, my mother was sick. And now, I think I have what she had.

This morning, I felt fine. This afternoon, I was a little stuffy. I was a little stuffy when I took Ana trick or treating. An hour later, I was a little stuffy with a tiny bit of a sore throat. I came home. Not three hours after I got home, I now have a noticeably hoarse voice, tons of phlegm, and my throat hurts more. And I'm a little stuffy (instead of a lot. Thank heaven for tiny miracles, eh?)

I'm more than a little creeped at how quickly this disease is progressing. Last time something took me over so fast, I couldn't even drink *water* it burned my throat so bad (had to subsist on milk, which increased my phlegm), and was out of school for two weeks. I go back right in time to realize I'm missing my finals, and end up in the Social Studies department at Stuy, sobbing because my head hurts that much, asking them to please let me take the test the following Monday (they had no problem with this, of course). And for weeks after I had "recovered" I was still dizzy and lightheaded, and going through tissues at a rate of 5+ an hour.

Nothing like happy thoughts to keep the monsters at bay....

Oh, and I can't breathe when I cough, but that, at least, is more likely a symptom of the everchanging weather than of any specific ailment. Again, thank heaven for tiny blessings....
