Why didn't you guys tell me it was worth watching? Of course, I can't say anything for the COMPLETELY PREDICTABLE cliffhanger ending. I hate cliffhanger endings. Gah. I'm tired and can't say anything coherant. Nightnight.

The Illinois house on Tuesday passed a bill banning discrimination against gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people and sent it to Gov. Rod Blagojevich, who has said he supports the measure

Yay!

Of course, the sillies did have something to say...

Opponents argued that the measure would lead to approval of same-sex marriage and allow cross-dressers to use the restrooms of the opposite sex.

1. Who cares? You're not the one getting married!
2. Seriously, who the fuck cares? You can't see anything in the bathroom. No, really. It's all hidden away in a stall if you're female, and nobody's looking if you're a guy (at least, I should hope not) and it's just not that big a deal. Grow up already.

One about homelessness in America.
One about violence against the homeless.

I need to do something else. Something less depressing/upsetting. I know. I'll go read. *wanders off*

Hm....

The Sci-Fi channel has been showing all the old (or several of the old, anyway) Battlestar Galactica episodes, presumably to lead up to the new series. Right now they're into Galactica 1980. I'm confused. I'm hardly the expert here, but I thought that in the original series, they met up with humans from Earth, and that their Earth was in our future - more advanced technology, the cold war taken to its sci-fi predictable limit, that sort of thing. But now, in this series, they're on Earth, and it's just standard 1980s problems. Did they forget the entire first series or something?

So, they speak English, right? And all their writing is in English, right? Including on those oh-so-sophisticated computers they have....

Now, I can accept that this is necessary to ease comprehension and speed along the narrative. Yes, even the writing. But then why, oh why, do they suddenly stop speaking English when it comes to time-words and animals? All of a sudden it's "secton" this and "lupus" that. WTF?

If I keep this up, I'll need a new icon....
