Here.

It reminds me of an ad for a diet pill I saw the other day while watching... something. Maybe Futurama. Real ad, though. They kept going on and on about how this pill was "medically proven" to help you lose weight with "no lifestyle changes". You could keep eating as much of whatever you liked, and exercise as little as you pleased, and lose weight.

The thought sickened me. People in this country spend a ridiculous amount of money on food, more money on diet foods, and more money losing weight, and even in this country there's people who go to bed hungry. It's disgusing, and wasteful, and here was an ad saying that you could lose weight and still eat as much food as you liked, food that apparently wouldn't even be put to good use within your body.

And there's my thought for the day. Djusk' a.

I'm not making this a poll, incidentally, even though it's about polls.

I've noticed that a lot of LJ users, when making polls, include a "ticky box" or a pointless question. I do that, in fact. But why do we do such a thing? How widespread is it? Where did it start, and when? *is curious*

I'd buy for Seth, but, y'know, don't know where he is and all. Jenn is getting free babysitting, again, and Mommy's getting me cleaning.

Quick, run through the wishlist, tell me what toys make the most sense for Ana at 18 months. I already have an idea of what I want to get her (and, in fact, will probably go to several stores to make sure that I don't fail) but I do like to have input from others. Ignore the blocks, she has enough of those for right now. If you go nuts and decide you want to buy her something, feel free, but tell me so I don't get it.

They're turning it into a Babies R Us. If you need any large childcare items, or any toys, and are in the area, the sales there are insane. Well, no, they're perfectly sane.

Anyway, did all of Ana's presents, less than $20. Got her a pair of skates, two board books, some bath toys, and a simple puzzle. She should like all of it, except maybe the skates.

Apparently, the sit 'n spins they're making now light up and have music. Can anybody say sensory overload? I loved my sit 'n spin. Of course, one can always take the batteries out, but I'm told that the new sit 'n spins are harder to turn, and they are such garish colors.... Does anybody have an old sit 'n spin I can have? For the babies, of course. I'm sure we could work something out with regards to shipping.
