When you click the link to see the video, you're supposed to hear "dah dah" while watching, and "ba ba" when not. But if I'm watching, I hear "ga ga". I don't hear "da da" unless I'm trying to hear that. Weird... Hey, reply, say what you hear.

Question!

How do you tell girl hamsters from boy hamsters? Because Lizziey left hers here (yes, I know, we're not thrilled about it either) and I want to know which is which... or, at least, what it means when both of them seem to have balls (but might not because they're hamsters and I don't know anything about them).

I have an icon idea based on... well, that more recent thread.

We all know that there's TV/movie/book characters who are so obviously aspie, right? I want an icon of 'em. I'll make up a list, and then post it, and then I want an icon! With the quote: Obviously Incredibly High Functioning (because I, unlike some people, probably am).

I'm going to be smart and stay away from That Thread, but I still want my icon.

Hm, I should start. There's Monk, who is NOT OCD, and his upstairs neighbor, and Lt. Barclay, and Anya (apparently).... Oh, and two characters from Discworld (that I know of): Jeremy Clockson in "Thief of Time" and the Stanley in Going Postal. And that kid with the weird name in "Silent to the Bone".

Limiting myself to humans from books/tv/movies I've seen.

Maybe Lilo? From Lilo y Stitch?

Well, kinda about that!

Aside from the truly hysterical irony of the whole thread, it reminded me of a conversation I had with my mom the same day I posted that CNN article about euthanasia. You know, the one which involved infants with, in one case, "severe spina bifida".

Me: What I don't get is the spina bifida thing. Isn't spina bifida, like, nonfatal?
Mommy: Yes, but the thing is...
Me: *eager anticipation*
Mommy: Well, it's a lack of proper development, so for instance a lot of them are incontinent...
Me: Um, yeah?
Mommy: ...and so they're in diapers their whole lives...
Me: *thinking about that autistics.org article* Yeah, and?
Mommy: ...and they walk strangely....
Me: ...
Me: You've got to be kidding me.

I'm still not sure if she meant that seriously or was just paraphrasing the ideas of people who worry about their poor crippled children, but I was *very* freaked out.
