In many variations.

Version 1

The second, not so good, but with a taunting melody, the type which hunts my dreams

Now if only I could find a good version of A Wizard's Staff has a Knob on the End...

Which I don't. I do think he needs more encouragement, considering his situation as compared to Ana's, though. And I think he'd be smarter if he stopped rushing into things, which inevitably ends up with him smacking his head on the floor. What am I expected to do, wax rhasphodic about how clever Ana is with communicating, and how she never forgets what she's learned, and how she's persistant at learning them? Maybe next time. That stuff, while more important, is less interesting, and you forget the important part, which is that I see her every day and focused a lot on how very much she understands (which I can't say for Seth, Jenn). Maybe you can filter my posts through somebody else's eyes for a change, Gingerdear.

Grrr....

UK Muslims Urged to Fight Terror.

Fight terror? They're stopping fear dead, are they? Or, instead, are they being asked to fight terror...ism?

Police sources told CNN the suspects were "linked to possible Islamist terror."

They were linked to fear in the Muslim community? Or were they linked to attacks by Muslims designed to cause fear in OTHER communities? People, terrorism is what causes terror. You can't really commit terror. It's not something you do. You may terrify, but you can't just "commit terror". You commit terrorism, or terrorist acts.

Britain, closest ally of the United States in the war on terror and the war in Iraq, has long warned it could be a target for Islamic terrorists.

Now we've got a WAR on terror. We're going into kid's closets and rooting out the monsters, are we? Or could we possibly mean that we are preventing bombings and attacks? The distinction really isn't that difficult. One is a word, the other is a word ending in the dreaded -ism, meaning, in this case, an action, process, or practice.

*smitesmitesmite*

There is absolutely no need to dilute the meaning of one word when we have a perfectly acceptable, easily understood, common word already!

Terror. Pah.

Edit NOOOOOOOOOOO! Thai Bomb Theft Causes Terror Fear.

Terror fear? TERROR FEAR? Of all the ridiculous, asinine, redundant phrases. It's NOT terror fear, as terror means the same as fear, except maybe stronger. It's fear of terrorism (nice genitive there...) or terrorism concerns or just fear because we know the probable cause of our fear.

People, please. Try a little clarity. It's a good thing.

They say they were told – after several meetings – that the staff involved would apologize, but not in front of the parents.

Immature, much? You did something few would condone, and the parents caught you at it... and now you won't apologise to them? Who are you apologising to, then? *is completely baffled*

Some guys are wimps

Seriously. Flipping out... over an unused, unopened tampon? Get a grip, man! I hope he never gets married, because that's just gonna hurt, he'll have to avoid the bathroom like the plague....

I take the bus most days, coming home from school (this laptop is heavy! I'll walk to the boat, but not from, not when it's dark) and I often see religious scrawlings on the ads lining the inside of the bus, generally of the theme "Believe in God's love or you'll burn forever in Hell". I really don't understand this, it certainly doesn't bring anybody closer to God... do they believe that He smiles on those who graffiti in His name?

Anyway, in a nice change from the bland, today's scribblings were all about homosexuality. Most of it had been thoughtfully crossed out by some other bored bus rider with a black marker (yay!) but s/he had missed the line at the top which quoted, or attempted to quote, from Leviticus.

I would never demean myself in such a way as writing on public property like that. However, I would like to have some handy notecards with other bible verses, including other, more relevant commandments, such as "judge not" and "don't eat that shrimp". I know they exist, I just don't know where. I will certainly amuse myself later by looking up the relevant passages myself, but because I'm so terribly lazy, I wondered if anybody with any Biblical knowledge could point me towards appropriate Biblical passages...?

There, for your listening pleasure (or something).

When you do something dangerous, I'll tell you. When I know what I'm talking about, AND I think you're doing this dangerous thing for less than desperate reasons (to save a dying child, perhaps), don't expect me to want to hear how you keep doing it despite the risks. I don't want to hear how mad you are at yourself because you can't keep your unreasonable and unsafe goals.

And if I'm not talking to you? I'm not fucking talking to you. Asking others to carry messages is rude. When I'm calmed down, I'll talk.
