Overview of the day:

Went into the city. Passed by ONE "save the animals" crazy lady, ONE group of prosteletyzing Jews, ONE political train musician, ONE group of anti-Zionist Jews, and ONE group of anti-war protesters. Also bought spicy peanut butter.

Now, about all that politics. What's up? Is today national protest day or something? All I could think of was April Fool's, but perhaps I am mistaken somehow.

*shrugs* In the spirit of the occasion, and since literally NOTHING happened interesting except reading the book that ties together "The Giver" and "Gathering Blue" (and incidentally shows that Jonas did NOT die!) and being really really bored... I give you this sentence:

Gah. I'm tedious and boring today. I'll go read the news, that'll cheer me up.

All I needed was somebody to make fun of. Like this brilliant person. Have I ever mentioned how much I loathe and abhor chtspk? Let me tell everyone again.

Really.

It is a system designed by clumsy, careless people who care little for the elegance of the written language. Moreso, it is entirely dependant on their perceived comfort and efficiency, and doesn't pay any attention at all to the reader.

And yet, it fascinates me. I can see many long and productive years in acadamia churning out works on chtspk and l337 and why it exists and how it is used and who uses it when and where....

*sighs*

I could just scream. My life is flashing before my eyes, and I'm only a sophomore!
