Is that you know it's somewhat biased, but you don't know if that means it's incorrect.

So. I will simply post an easily verifiable quote.

"I would like to outlaw contraception...contraception is disgusting – people using each other for pleasure." -Joseph Scheidler, Pro-Life Action League

*gags*

For god's sake, sex is disgusting, but fortunately, we've evolved in such a way that most of us overlook that most of the time, so we can spread our genes into the future. We do that by ENJOYING sex. That's what it's for! Even more fortunately, many of us have since learned that we should concentrate on quality instead of quantity and have very few children.

I really don't understand this creepy logic. Honestly.

I'll do some research later this week and decide whether or not I believe this editorializing.

It's in the Times, so I'll be nice and quote the relevant parts.

It seems to me, all quibbling aside, that the best way to end terrorism, rather than to just go to war, would be to find out why various groups, terrorist or not, are angry at us, decide if they have a good point, and if so, work to change the situation. I don't think that they just hate us because we've got religious freedom. People don't kill and die because of that. We like to think they do, because it's nicely flattering and it fits with our image of history, but most of the time all this death and destruction can be traced to more tangible causes. Fixing those problems before people get mad enough to kill is, I think, a reasonable idea. Or we could just improve the CIA until nobody can slip through their net.

Why is she still dragging her feet about this?

I love a good conspiracy theory, but I believe this is probably just more... people being people. Doing what makes them look bad, and denying that they do it, all at the same time.

She killed her newborn. The law only allows a maximum of four years for deliberately killing a living, breathing, full-term child?

I know you're all ready to kill me for spamming your friends pages, but I can't believe I forgot to post this.

As I was going up the escalator to the downtown side at Bowling Green today, I suddenly hear the tunnel fill up with horrified screams. I actually understood for the first time how the story of the banshee started. And I keep going up, and hear "somebody fell onto the tracks". What? "Somebody fell onto the tracks!"

Oh. Damn. Now I'm torn between:

Concern for the woman who'd fallen
Worry about seeing gory stuff
Worry about being late/losing a fare
Guilt for the last feeling.

I finally make my way upstairs, and all is well. She had done the stupid thing of leaning over the edge, which is how she fell, but the train stopped without really entering the station, and everyone was all right. And it was the uptown track anyway, so no delay for me! Aside from which, even late, I was the first one to Latin... bunch of lazy bums, all of 'em!
