More here.

Apparently, the guy also believes abortion should be always illegal... but then, I've long since realized that those consistently opposed to abortion are rarely what I would consider logical about the matter.

My. That's certainly... refreshingly honest of him.

Says he's 91yo himself. I'm sure with a little work we could find him a nice ice floe somewhere. If we all chipped in, I bet we could afford a one-way ticket for him to wherever it is, so he can reduce his burden on his community.

ETA: Huh. Learn something new about English every day.

I wonder how many people I know would be left. I obviously wouldn't be. But I think, on the whole, I do more good than harm. I may be wrong. I am an American, and I do use up a ridiculous amount of resources. But I actually do a lot of good, despite being massively defective.

I do think this guy is somewhat defective though.

Oh, of course. The reason overpopulation is a problem is that it leads to suffering and death. It is a problem because of the increased risk of plagues, war, starvation, etc. This is why any "solution" to overpopulation that is about deliberately causing suffering and deaths completely misses the point of what we are trying to fix. The problem isn't the sheer number of people; it's that we have people we can't always take good care of.

So, yes, solutions are to find better ways to take care of people. One part of that is to try to avoid creating people who don't have someone who actively wants the caretaker role and is capable of taking up that position. Other parts of that solution involve better health care, better methods of distributing food, vaccinations, education, etc. It's a difficult problem, but rounding people up and killing them is obviously of no help whatsoever.
