My waffle iron just broke, with a loud POP - the wire seems to have chosen this moment to forget it's supposed to be attached. D'oh!

I have a bowl of batter and four waffles. MY ENTIRE DINNER PLAN DEPENDS ON HAVING CURRY WAFFLES FOR MY CURRIED WAFFLE CLUB SANDWICHES.

What can I do?

Edit: Turns out my neighbor has a waffle iron. The grid is too small for my tastes, but I'm SO no complaining.

Also, I now have to buy a new waffle iron. How about one of those on-the-stove types? Any advice?

Second the idea. Sounds interesting, actually.

One of these buggers.

I have one buried somewhere, and it's excellent. You get a large waffle per baking which can be broken into four smaller waffles if you have large numbers of people, large appetites to fend off or both. ;) You also get a sandwich press and openface grill, plus the grids can be washed in the sink if you want to do such a fool thing.

Somehow, the combination of "Black & Decker" and "waffle iron" made me laugh - I think of B&D as makers of power tools (drills and the like) rather than kitchen implements.

Stuff a plug in iron.
I have an old fashioned cast iron one. it cost me 20 bucks, makes perfect slightly thin and crispy but thats how I like em waffles on my gas stove. takes arround 4 of 5 burnt waffles to get the hang of tho.
