I love that they opened one bottle before even coming up.

The way I read it, they opened it before getting to sure, but probably on a boat after coming up. (What would be the point of opening one underwater? The champagne would just all get lost.)

Ach, of course I mean "before getting to shore", not "before getting to sure". (And no, those are not homophones for me.)

On the subject of covers, am I the only person who hardly ever even looks at the front cover of a book until after I've decided whether or not I'm going to buy it...?

The comments in the MSNBC article about the kids' meals were like that, too. Or that people shouldn't be so judgmental. Or "once in a while won't hurt". Seriously, people, your kid does not need to consume the daily caloric intake of an adult in one sitting.

"Segregation is something that's a foreign word to me, something I've never lived through or have any understanding of," says the New Jersey native, who moved to the area about a decade ago.

Oh, bullshit New Jersey guy. Like the north doesn't have issues with segregated schools. Or just because you weren't personally affected by it doesn't mean you can't learn about it and understand why it's a problem!

The same type of resegregation is happening in the school where I went to high school, but in a more subtle way. They can't undo the merging of the districts that took place in the 80s, but more and more of the white families are just moving away. They want to send their kids to the schools in the "nice" suburbs.
