This is something that happens to many people, no doubt.

The paint on the trackpad of my laptop is wearing off. No surprise, that's where my fingers go.

Obviously this is just cosmetic, but just out of curiosity - could that be fixed?

Which is why I bought a plug-in mouse and started using it the same day I got this netbook.

Trackpads don't tend to hold up well, from what I've seen. (The texturized finish is already worn off mine just from occasional use when I didn't want to get out the mouse.)
