I have three strong, vigorous apple trees from last year's plantings (http://marveen.livejournal.com/155177.html). They're all of six inches tall now, but one is known to be half-Gravenstein. (I do hope some of those yellow tart ones came up.)
I am preserving apple stock as best I can, and next year I hope to have grafted my favorite Northern Spy tree.
