But she has some sort of perverse pleasure in not telling me anything at all. I suppose it's her business, but normal, sane people tell their children they're dating - don't they?

All I've confirmed is:

It's a guy
Not somebody at work
No, she really *does* work 16 hour days (I'd rather she were having lots of sex than working so much, honestly)
It's not her brother (I already knew that, but THANK YOU, Mommy, for putting that thought in my head)
His favorite color is blue.

Blue? EVERYBODY'S favorite color is blue, or most people's, anyway.

She is very unhelpful, which I suppose was her goal because keeping secrets is just how she works.

Apparently my sister told her I wasn't a virgin before I did. I'm certain, Jennifer, that I swore you to secrecy before sharing that information. (Well, clearly this "keep secrets at all costs" nonsense is inherited. Must've skipped a kid with Jenn-the-tattler, though.)

I'm putting it on her grave when she dies (many many years hence): "She had a secret boyfriend, and we never met the guy, but at least she knew we knew."

I did? Are you sure you're not thinking of Jenn's school, LaGuardia? Because I sure was never invited to a single orgy, bisexual or otherwise! (It just seems so out of character for Stuy kids, and I don't think of myself as being associated with Curtis at all, despite graduating from there.)

There was some controversy a few years ago on Pegleg "cuddle puddles" (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1571868/posts) that made it sound like the sex ed there was working a little too well.

I went to Stuy myself, and had no sexual contact with anyone.
