Does anybody know why my AdBlock filters have randomly deleted themselves?

Once is a fluke. Twice is just annoying.

Firefox 2 has this annoying habit where whenever it updates itself or any of the addon's it seems to reset everything to the default values.

Might that be the problem?

Have you tried an alternate solution - fiddling with the hosts file (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosts_file#Ad_filtering), for example? I'm sure that there are ad blocking specific ones out there, but as I haven't used any in a while, I really can't recommend any in particular.

I still don't really know what was causing it but it seems to be fixed in Adblock Plus 0.7.5.1 released today.
