I'm listening for the kids right now, Jenn and 'dul are celebrating meeting various deadlines.
The baby, for reasons completely unbeknownst to me, has been waking up far more often than is normal for her - and not falling back asleep like she ought to, either!
And I really need to brush my teeth and turn off computer and lights before I can snuggle down with her and sleep together, right? But every time I'd get her asleep, and then put her down, she'd be quiet right until I walked out the door - and then start crying. Bad enough for all that, but with her sister in the room... I don't want two awake kids to deal with, y'know?
Finally, not thinking it would work, and knowing that at the *very* least the laptop could not remain on my bed while on, I tell her (from outside the room) "No, Evangeline, be quiet and go to sleep".
And she stopped mid-cry.
A bit amazed, I walked to the hallway. Crying - "No, Evangeline". Stopped. Wait, wait, wait - crying. "No." Stopped.
Wait, wait, wait - dead silence. Well, I mean, not *dead* silence, but you know what I mean :)
I'm upstairs, haven't heard a peep, and this baby monitor works, unlike their old one. I am frankly stunned that this worked, but hey, I'm not complaining :)
I'll be down again in a few, I feel more comfortable down there if they're there and I'm sleeping - I don't know for sure I'll hear the monitor through my nap. I just really *do* need to brush my teeth :)
By the way, have I mentioned today that I am *not* paid enough? Because I'm not, and I'd like to take this moment to note that Jenn will owe me a minimum of $80 (and that's really not all of it) for the program fees for the kids at her next paycheck. That's at only $20 per week, when we've agreed $30 now that the SICM charges for the baby as well. I'm not paid enough for this. (I'm also not paid enough to watch Su two mornings a week like I'm doing now, or to ferry any number of children around on the weekends, or to help Elise out with her schoolwork. I guess I am a saint after all. Well, goddamn it! Everybody better shower me with praise, I'm in one of those moods and I'm not paid enough, have I mentioned?)

P.S please stop spending ur own money!!!! on stuff for our kids we are poor and if we can't give you the money for the weekly programs that’s because we do not have it. Which means we can't really pay u back. We have so many bills over our head that we really are not making on time, we can't afford a lot of things right now. so please ask me or Jen first and then we can let u know if we can pay u back or not.
