In this case, his foster parents.

This article doesn't mention his diagnosis, but earlier articles, when his foster family was claiming he was lost, do.

It's a very disturbing story, be aware.

And I can't even say anything about it. There aren't any words for this.

Yeah, that was all over the paper today, though I don't recall seeing autism in any of the articles. (To be fair, today's is the first set I really read closely, but.) They did call him ADHD, which... kids have short attention spans anyway. But none of the above are good reason to leave a kid in a closet over the weekend.

There are just... no words for people sometimes. The placement people are getting a lot of heat, and losing a lot of business, for whatever part they might have had in sticking the kid with a rotten family. Dad said he heard something that said it wasn't the first time they'd locked the kid in a closet, either.
I don't get it. I really, really don't.

I'm glad they're not consistently mentioning autism, because it's awful regardless of whether he's autistic, so it's not a really important detail. And it's nice to see an article that takes that approach.

Awful though. A truly awful thing to have happen.

i read an awful article once where a mother left her baby just a few months old alone for a week while she went to visit her boyfriend. i think she left a 2 or 3 year old to "care" for the baby. both were dead when she returned. i just can't imagine how someone can do something that horrific. i'm glad those foster parents got their other children taken away.

That's horrible. I'm really upset. I just posted about it in my own journal.

At least the articles aren't using this as an opportunity to talk about how horrible autism is or to justify the murder. But still... it's just awful.
