Tonight's BSG...

Was... odd.

On the one hand, it was good. On the other... it's clearly one of those episodes which is central to longer plot arcs, but which is kinda slow on its own.

And the death. I would've been upset if Kara had shot her, upset if Adama had been terminated (and I'm thinking that Admiral Ro knew about Kara's job all along, while Adama was a bit willfully ignorant), upset if Ro's guy had grown a spine and not shot anybody while under orders, and pretty much nonplussed by any solution to the cliffhanger. However, that knowledge doesn't make me any less unhappy about PegaSix shooting Ro. Deus ex machina, anybody?

Also not sure about the personal relationships going on - do I like them? Do I hate them? Do I not care? Do I NOT CARE AND WANT THEM TO GO AWAY? I don't know.

I'll rewatch it, then wait until next week to decide what I think.

Gareth is leaning towards liking the resolution, because he says he didn't see it coming until a minute before it happened (neither did I, for that matter). I'm partly leaning towards thinking it would have been more interesting for the show if she'd remained alive, and partly agreeing with him that there's only so much character conflict you can have (speaking of which, I think there's going to be some Starbuck/Adama conflict I'm looking forward to, after her eulogy) and it's more interesting to see what Adama can do with Admiral Ro's crew.

I kinda saw it coming, but I'd been spoiled that Pegasix wouldn't just die then. I wasn't expecting her to kill Ro, but I knew Kara wouldn't, and I knew she wouldn't live.
