I didn't see BSG last night.

Completely forgot, really. Not a fan of re-runs, so I hadn't remembered it was starting a new season again.

In the middle of it now. HOLY HELL, I WAS RIGHT ABOUT ADMIRAL RO! I was hoping it wasn't as bad as all that, but... wow.

Edit: Oh man. Next week is going to so totally rock. Of course, we can already figure out most of it.

I watched it, even though I haven't seen any of it since the first or second episode after the pilot.

Pretty good.

Very tense.

You should've - that's when the Pegasus episode actually started. Of course, some people called it too dark because of the rape scene which you saw part of in the "previously on this show" segment.

("Dark" is kinda a funny criticism to throw at a show where all of human civilization has been destroyed except for like 40K people or so. But some fictionalized rape scenes are offensive...)

I didn't think so. I thought it was sickening, but since that was the reaction it was presumably supposed to evoke, that's not a bad thing. Rape is *supposed* to be sickening.

Which begs the question, why are your children awake and watching TV at 10 pm? I wasn't allowed to stay up that late until I was in high school.

It raises the question. Question-begging is a specific logical fallacy wherin you end up answering a question with the question itself.

Clarity is all.

That said, I don't begin to pretend to understand that argument.

To say that BSG has too much sex so parents can't watch it with their children begs the question of whether the children are or should be watching television. The statement that children can't watch it is based upon a premise that children should be watching it, which has not been established previously. Would you feel better if I had said "That begs the question of whether children should be watching BSG in the first place, because it is on at 10:00"?
