Today's VM...
Nov. 30th, 2005 10:02 pmGreat, until the end, I thought....
1. Okay. I was actually a little slow to pick up on the deaf woman being the mom (though I *did* know the word was friend, not fiend!). And I kinda wanted Kendall to be the kid, for more incestuous goodness!
2. C'mon. Veronica barely knows the alphabet, and all of a sudden she knows that Deaf Woman is telling her that she wants to donate her bone marrow? Riiiiiight.
3. I knew from the start that Clemmons was up to no good. Sneaking around to make sure she read the right file, asking "Did you even *read* the file" like that! Hee!
4. Oooh. Mac/Cassidy. That... could work.
5. Meg being pregnant threw the episode off, mihi. And what, is she like faking a coma? How the heck do you fake a coma? Aside from the boredom aspects, aren't there ways to tell if somebody's not really comatose?
6. And is she also hiding her pregnancy somehow? What, is this a conspiracy with the hospital? It's not like her parents wouldn't know, she's a minor, the doctors have to tell them this shit. So if she's not hiding the fact that she's ready to pop, why is she faking a coma? Maybe she just always looks around like that when she wakes up in a strange place.
7. Oh, gee, somebody's going to die. It had better not be any of the characters I like.
8. The Weevil/Logan fight? I was cracking up laughing. I don't know why, either. Pity it seems to have backfired....
9. Gee, Veronica sure is a bitch to and about Duncan's mom. Wow. Sure, Duncan's mom isn't nice, but at least she started out being civil... kinda... not really... but more civil than Veronica, at least, which is saying something.

What I got from this is that her parents know about the pregnancy, and that's why they won't allow visitors.
Did you watch the alternate ending? Because it leads me to an additional conclusion...

Date: 2005-12-01 03:30 am (UTC)That actually makes sense, thanks.
No, I didn't see the alternate ending. What's different about it?

Date: 2005-12-01 01:26 pm (UTC)Meg's mom: "Oh - you turned down your music again..." *gospel music rises in background* *Meg's mom reassures Meg that she'll be safe/happy soon*
(This is all paraphrase.)
Meg's mom leaves, and a long low beeeeep blends with the gospel music. Veronica emerges from the bathroom - to find a pillow over Meg's face. She grabs the pillow off just as a nurse runs in - the nurse says "What have you done?"
End of episode.
So my opinion, based on alternate/extended ending:
Meg is not in a coma. As evidenced both by the eyeflutter and the fact that she apparently keeps turning her music down.
Meg is being drugged by her parents, who are known to be wacko-abusive.
No, I have no idea how they're pulling that off with the hospital, especially with her pregnant. But her waking up, plus that line from her mom... her parents are crazy pissed that she's pregnant, and have maybe been sedating her and keeping her alive just long enough for a healthy delivery - they'd be anti-abortion, so they'd want to take the baby, right?
