Date: 2005-11-12 03:56 am (UTC)I think it's not right, and the fact that that senator is from my state makes me feel faintly ill. I know he says it's to prevent "lawsuit abuse", but a significant part of me can't help but wonder if he just wants those detained to "disappear".
If someone is illegally detained, that person should have the right to contest it, period. And, I'm worried about the implications it has for, well, the "rest of us". I don't think I'm an "enemy of the state", but who knows at the rate things are going?
I think this is incoherent. Why am I not in bed? Ah, I tried.
