Now re-watching Heart of Gold...

I remember this as the weakest episode, so here's hoping my memory is flawed.

Bah. They're living in the aluminum plated whorehouse (literally) in the land of sexist rapists, and they can't find a better place to move to? And Petalene (the hell?) can't hide someplace better than the entryway? What was she doing, listening at the door with a glass?

Oh yeah, and Mal and Inara aren't gonna have sex anytime soon. Stupid people.

Edit: I just love River, staring at this pregnant woman, full of concentration. "Mine too", like of course she's part of that conversation :)

Edit again: Yeah, that's why I didn't like this episode. ENOUGH WITH THE PRE-SEX CHATTER! JUST FUCK ALREADY!

Edit the third: Y'know, if *I* were getting my information from a confirmed stool pigeon, I'd wait until *after* the fight to demean and humiliate (not to mention rape) her. I'm just sayin'. And there's another person who talks too much. Can't you just rape her? Do you have to give a whole, impassioned, misgynistic speech to your pitchfork-carrying, torch-waving mob? I mean, really.

Fourth edit: Well, gee, Inara, I can't imagine why he slept with your friend instead of you! It couldn't possibly have anything to do with the fact that you're constantly insulting him and telling him, to his face, how little you think of him, could it? Nah. That's just silly.

It wasn't so much that there was no where else that they could go--more that they had made that place their own, and damned if they were going to give that up.

Personally, I love the episode. But then, I like Mal and Inara, dense though they are.

For me, this episode would be quickly forgotten if it wasen't for River. I absolutly love her in Heart of gold. But other than that? I don't even dislike it, I'm just...blah... about it.

First off, sorry for spamming your list this way but I have a qn about posting on book_icons but your email isn't listed on your LJ-info.

Basically, is is permissible to post icons inspired by a book series but does not use quotes or actual fanart/images from the books? E.g. likesay, if I were to take an image of some blonde male model and labelled it "draco malfoy" instead, would this be OK?

I found your LJ through the one of the firefly comm's. I love what you have to say. I hope you get to see Serenity early. I was fortunate enough to catch the last screening back in June and I will be seeing it again on Friday. I can't wait.
