You all remember when I had to buy my new adapter, right?
Well, it's not working. And I *know* it's my adapter and not my laptop, because I tried it on my mom's computer, and it's not fucking working, and I just bought it, and I have no clue where the receipt is, if we still have it, so I don't know what to fucking do, and I can't afford a new adapter, and I can't just run my computer off its battery because I have no way to recharge it, and it's not fair, I just *bought* that damn thing a few months ago, it should last longer before crapping out on me, and it doesn't look broken, but it's not working. The screen would flicker a few times (because it's set to dim when unplugged) and then just stop.
So I'm on my mom's computer, which I *hate* to be on, because the keyboard has this weird habit of randomly sending me up a few lines from where I was (I swear, I'm not clicking anything to make it do that, either), and I can't just be on her computer, and it's not fucking fair.
In other news, Thud is quite a good book. And this is just not fair.
Edit: I've emailed the company, explaining that I just bought it on July 29th (I looked it up on my journal, which really comes in handy), and that I had bought it long enough ago that I no longer know where the receipt is, and that I'd really prefer information on how I can have this repaired or replaced for free/cheap because I do like it, other than the fact that it just died on me, but that I'll accept a refund if I can get that.
Either way, I'm not spending another $80 on a new adapter, not while Jenn's still not paying me, money is far too tight for that.

Date: 2005-09-19 12:37 am (UTC)Well, I do use a surge protector, but it's one we've had since before we got our new computers (and by new, I mean quite old and obsolete, the old ones were our c64 and c128). So....
