Note to helpful friends...
Sep. 13th, 2005 12:21 am"It's a quirk, she'll grow out of it" is not the answer I want to read. What I want to see is "Oh, it sounds like blahblahblah" with a proper explanation of why Ana's doing this interesting and fascinating linguistical thingy. "It's a quirk" is not an explanation, and I already *know* she'll grow out of it. I don't care about that! I want to know why she's doing it now!
Honestly, how long have some of you known me? Thank you.
(And I know you're trying to help, but I'm not asking for reassurances, I'm asking for information. When I want reassurances, I'll say something like "does this indicate a problem?" or "should we all be worried?" or "please tell me she's okay". I promise.)

Other words may not create the same difficulty for her. And to figure out that would require an entire list and lots of analysation that could only be speculative at best anyway.

Date: 2005-09-13 05:39 am (UTC)I know for myself now, that I choose to do quirky things with words just because they sound interesting to me. Or that they make a sense that makes sense only to me. I remember doing similar things from a young age. I saw patterns in strange places and expressed them in strange ways. Almost compulsive ways.
It could be this is what she's doing. In that case, what will be fascinating is to see first off how long it takes her to replace it with another quirk and what that quirk is, whether its even a verbal one.
