Thoughts on BSG as it airs...

1. Let's say up-front that I don't have that great a feeling about this episode. "Camera films everyone" is such an overdone concept, and it usually looks wrong when done. However, I shall wait! Besides - DRUMS!
2. I'm not sure how much I believe the running around half naked. I believe Lee's reaction, though. And, prior to that, the poetry? Right, Kara's really going to act like that now when she's not sure how she feels about everything? Well, maybe. I'm not her, am I?
3. Aw, Dualla is sweet. And possibly an evil alien robot.
4. Baltar is becoming even more insane, and egotistical to boot. He was getting better, for a while.
5. Aww to Lee too. He's so sincere and cute and all.
6. Okay, I don't understand this. Why are they completely unable to control themselves in front of the camera? I know life's stressful, but... damn.
7. That statement was very ambiguous. Who has their job to do? The reporters? The cylons?
8. Shore leave? ON WHAT SHORE? The deathplanet? Caprica, perhaps?
9. They'd kill several perfectly reasonable people besides Tigh in that way. Stupid people! (I bet it's his wife.)
10. I'm starting to think that Mrs. Tigh is just like Six, just... not so religious. I mean, listen to her talk...
11. OMG. It's a really big car-crash memorial. Is this supposed to evoke 9/11 or something? Because it sure does.
12. A week? Was each preceding episode exactly one day?
13. She is really beating the crap out of that punching bag. Dear god. What did that poor thing ever do to her?
14. Poor Boomer. And Cat, I suppose.
15. STUPID COMMERCIALS.
16. *laughs* It's amazing how Baltar can change "I killed a guy" into "leadership qualities I didn't even know I possessed".
17. I can't believe that even the view from their cameras is octagonal. That's obsession.
18. I do not in the least bit feel any suspense over who did that to Madame Tigh.
19. So, Catarus (unlike, say, Catullus), is the Evil Death Poet?
20. Wow. Tigh is stronger than I thought. I wouldn't've expected this from him, even in his noble moods.
21. I love how they don't come right out and say "Catarus = death poet". There was just the one quote at the beginning, and a bit of reasonable extrapolation.
22. Wait... is she just going to kill the Boomer story...?
23. This came out better than I expected. And that's the word I wanted before, I didn't have great "expectations" of this episode.
24. Ooh, old-style music. Neat.
25. I liked this episode more than I expected to.
26. What? Wait. How do they get these images - how do they get the cut scenes... oh, wait, that explains everything. So... they watched that in a movie theater?
