If it's the Enterprise, the Defiant, shouldn't it be the Voyager? But it's not. Very very very annoying. And yet. On Voyager. They name their oh-so-l33t shuttle... the Delta Flyer.
Side note... what flying? It's more like propelling through space. For flying, you need air. Oh well, that at least makes sense of a sort.
Side note two... I need some star trek icons. Hold on while I find them.

Date: 2003-12-22 07:08 am (UTC)Given that they're lost in the back end of space with nothing familiar in sight, I can imagine that the people in it would start to think of Voyager less as a starship and more as a world, hence losing the article.
Or maybe it's just a plot hole. :)
