So, the whole "new baby" thing...
May. 25th, 2005 03:22 pm'dul and Jenn kinda sorta maybe want to continue the "angel" theme. They have an Angelique, they might get an Evangeline, it's all angelic, right? 'dul rather insanely thinks "Seraphim" is a good name for a boy, nevermind that it's a plural.
This has led to my mom repeatedly pointing out that the two angels mentioned in the Bible are Michael and Gabriel.
Once again, Wikipedia comes to the rescue. There are other angels mentioned by name (though not all of them in the Bible). Raphael (he's in the Bible) and Metatron come to mind. I won't be mentioning this to Abdul. He just might get it into his head that Metatron is a great name.
(And yes, this is what prompted my last Wikipedia related post. It's amazing what you find there. Though if I keep this up, I'll be memorizing the meaning of names again and trying to figure out what each part means, something that never ends well. I'd better find something new to read up on.)

According to the Wikipedia article, he's only mentioned in a deuterocanonical book (Tobias/Tobit), which some (many?) editions of the Bible leave out as being part of the apocrypha.
