I went on news... and noticed frozen comment threads. Since when do they freeze comment threads on news?

Oh, I'm not complaining. I'm just surprised.

I was thinking that maybe the commenters themselves screened their threads, but after lookiing over there, I think not.

Maybe they're trying to cut down on the junk comment frenzy that usually happens in news posts.


And I'm glad they finally made a post about the OpenID! That freaked me out when I noticed it hours ago and couldn't find a news post about it. Lj_dev to the rescue at that point.

Pretty sure you can't screen or freeze comments on somebody else's post. In fact, I'm certain of it.

Unless of course you're the maintainer of the comm they posted in, that doesn't count.
