Oh, gee. And isn't this editorial courtesy of Mr. "Fags are Deviants and Should Be Banned from Civil Unions Because They're Obviously Wrong and My Religion Says So And I Stand By That"? How nice.
That said, he has a point about Lucas's inconsistency. But since when has ANYTHING in Star Wars been consistent?
Amusing sidenote: Have you noticed how bent out of shape the Right has gotten about the supposed "PC" parallels between Bush and Palpatine? And isn't it funny how the folks who howl about the wrongness of "Political Correctness" want to enforce gag rules on anyone who disagrees with them - in other words, to enforce their own brand of Political Correctness?
Does anyone in this stupid society even KNOW how to use a mirror?
The article makes it clear that Card doesn't understand the nature of the Force as shown in the films, doesn't understand how the Jedi Council fits into the Republic's political structures, and doesn't understand the nature of Vader's (re)conversion at the end of The Return of the Jedi at all...
...any more than he understands Star Trek: Enterprise, or homosexuality, both of which he also hates.
Card's opinions are sound and fury, signifying nothing.
I hadn't heard about this. Does he think we all should just march our miserable selves into the ovens, or that we are simply incapable of happiness and therefore merely pitiable?
I think he just screams loudly at anyone who says there's anything positive about life as a disabled person. Heard that a number of places, also heard he has a disabled son.
You know, I chose him for my American Author project before I realised how hateful he was. It's hard to say nice, generic things about him. Mostly, the report is about his books and what I liked about them. I still love Ender's Shadow,
