I'm wandering around LiveJournal looking for bookish icons so that I can ask the creators to crosspost to book_icons and thus expand our repetoire. Not that we need new posters so much, but. (Incidentally, if you can think of any authors with large fan bases whom I may have missed, please tell me)

And that's how I found this. The person who started that thread shouldn't've picked the fight, but.... *stares*

This lady is clearly not using our Earth logic. Now I know America has it's share of "OMG Immigrants NOOOOOOO!" people, which is slightly silly in itself, since every single person in the country who is not the descendent of a Native American tribe had ancestors who were immigrants at some point. But this woman claims her parents were immigrants.

And yet immigrants are ruining the country.

Actually, wait, I almost agree. Her parents are ruining America. They're the reason she's here.

So really everyone is descended from immigrants. Does her argument have any merit whatsoever?
